The Back River Marsh Osprey Nest Cam
The Marsh: This is the Old Saybrook, Great Hammock Beach Live Cam from John & Cheryl Pytel and the DiCocco Family that allows viewers to see what is going on at least on the Marsh side of Great Hammock Beach. Scenes of the Back River Marshes area includes the Osprey Nest built by, at request of Sam DiCocco a friend of Sam’s and installed into the marsh near the Back River. Osprey’s will build a nest within 500 Ft. of water where the fishin’ is good!
John, who is the owner of PCSHost.com sponsors the video as you could probably tell by the logo. 😉 John is of course an Osprey Whisperer. The Osprey’s are known to flock around him when he calls. The camera view does change so bear with us if it’s not on the nest at all times. We prefer not to be intrusive and focus on the chicks when they hatch so it will only be a close up at times. But still well worth the watch.
The Ospreys themselves will go to the nest late March and leave around the first week of October. Around December you’ll see an occasional eagle populate the nest. That’s an amazing site in itself.
